Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dane Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Myers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dane Castro! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Myers stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Myers wants it to stay on the feet. Castro looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Castro moves into the clinch. Castro prevents the takedown attempt.
Myers is pressed up against the cage. Castro has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Myers down to the mat. Myers avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Myers throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Castro was covering up waiting for the punch and Myers finishes the takedown easily into guard. Myers's corner is telling him to maintain position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Castro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Myers can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Castro is trying to control the position but Myers postures up. Myers advances position into side control! Castro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Myers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Myers misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Myers cracks Castro with an elbow. That is naaassty. Castro is looking for a sweep. Castro managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Myers.
Castro can't do much from the bottom here. Myers is working Castro over with some ground and pound from side control. Myers controlling the position. Castro takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Castro regains half guard there - taking advantage of Myers's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Castro wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Myers is controlling the pace.
Myers lands strikes from half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Myers is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Myers working Castro over with strikes. Myers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Myers with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castro looking for submissions off his back. Myers seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Castro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Myers trying to control the pace. Nice strikes from Myers there. Myers content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Myers thows a huge punch but Castro dodges it nicely.

Jake Myers has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Myers lands a two punch combo.
Castro fails in his attempt to clinch. Myers darts in and clinches Castro up against the cage. Myers is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Myers gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Castro.
Jake Myers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dane Castro. Myers turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Myers dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Castro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Myers's waist but Myers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Castro off to one side. Castro throws a low kick but Myers avoids it. Castro tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Myers swivels and escapes. Castro tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Myers fails to land the takedown. Myers dives in and scores a takedown into Castro's guard. Castro avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Myers trying to control the position from guard on top but Castro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Myers throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Castro is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Myers is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Myers sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Castro's guard. Myers content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Castro trying to hold on to Myers's head to control him but Myers postures up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Myers in particular looking to stall. Myers has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Myers wants to control but Castro is keeping him busy.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Myers fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Castro tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Myers manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Myers fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Castro to the ground. Myers is now in Castro's guard. Myers trying to control the position from guard on top but Castro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Myers scoring with some ground and pound. Castro keeping moving, preventing Myers from controlling successfully. Myers is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Castro keeping moving, preventing Myers from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jake Myers wasn't doing enough on the ground. Castro fails in his attempt to clinch. Myers shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Myers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Castro checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Myers throws a nice looking combination but Castro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Castro tries to clinch up but Myers circles away and keeps his distance. Castro connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Castro throws a shot to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Castro looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jake Myers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Myers shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Castro as he jumps to the side. The fight moves into the clinch position. Castro tries to pull guard but Myers won't allow it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Castro tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Myers smiles and moves away.

Jake Myers dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Castro lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Castro gets the takedown into side control. Castro trying to control the action but Myers is working from the bottom. Castro working away. Myers is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Castro off and has taken his back!

A bit of a pause in the action here. Myers controlling the positon. Castro is trying to remain composed but Myers is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. Myers is landing with strikes from the back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Myers throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Castro!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Myers's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Castro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Castro is trying to remain composed but Myers is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. Good control from Myers. Myers not allowing Castro to control his hands. Myers is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Castro up.

Myers has Castro flattened out and is raining down punches. Myers cracks Castro with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Castro from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Myers is landing with strikes. Castro can't take much more of this. Castro grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Jake Myers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Castro is taking damage to the body and head. Myers trying to control momentarily.
Myers scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Castro is looking for a way out. Myers biding his time, looking for the opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Myers throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Castro!

Jake Myers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. This has been an exciting period of action! I would not like to be Castro right now.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Myers's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! Jake Myers showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Myers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
