Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Corey Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Neal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Corey Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil Neal! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corey Jr takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Corey Jr tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Corey Jr is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Corey Jr moves into the clinch. Neal has picked Corey Jr up - he's going for a ride! Neal dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Neal is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Corey Jr is looking for a sweep. Neal is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Corey Jr taking some punishment here, with Neal in his half guard. Ground and pound from Neal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Neal looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Corey Jr with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Neal tries to pass to full mount but Corey Jr defends it. Neal thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Corey Jr's head. Corey Jr moves into full guard.
Neal won't allow Corey Jr to sweep him here. Corey Jr bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Neal's guard. Corey Jr trying to control but Neal is working from the bottom. Neal working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Corey Jr.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corey Jr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Neal works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Neal is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Corey Jr prevents Neal from getting back to his feet. Corey Jr has gone for a leg lock! Neal slips out almost immediately though and dives into Corey Jr's guard. Corey Jr looking for a sweep. Not yet Corey Jr, not yet. Neal throws a strike but Corey Jr rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Corey Jr keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Neal's head. Neal lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Corey Jr! Neal looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Corey Jr is wriggling around trying to escape.
Corey Jr wants to control but Neal is having none of it. This has been an exciting period of action! Neal has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Corey Jr's face.
Neal controlling the position easily from mount. Corey Jr is working to get back to half guard.
Neal looking to control but Corey Jr is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Neal lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Corey Jr hang on?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neal lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Corey Jr is rocked! Corey Jr tries to reverse the position but Neal maintains control. Oh Corey Jr is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Neal can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Corey Jr is looking to escape. Corey Jr seems to have got his legs back now. Neal landing shots from mount. Corey Jr tries to hold on but Neal pushes him away. Corey Jr is trying to escape the mount.
The referee warns Corey Jr that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Corey Jr is looking to improve his position but Neal isn't that keen on the idea. Corey Jr might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Corey Jr tries to hold on but Neal pushes him away. Neal punishing his opponent with strikes. Corey Jr is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Neal postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Corey Jr looks a forlorn figure.

Neal putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Corey Jr is looking to get to half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A nice elbow there by Neal. Corey Jr can't escape the position.
Neal lands a nice shot to the head. Neal postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Corey Jr out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Neal goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Phil Neal! Phil Neal decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
