Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jopp Joppson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mir is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Jopp Joppson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jopp Joppson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joppson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Joppson showed some decent athleticism there. Mir is breathing heavily. Joppson thows a huge punch but Mir dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Joppson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Mir is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Joppson pulls his head out easily. Joppson content to control rather than advance. Mir really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jopp Joppson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Joppson stuffs the takedown. Joppson shoots in and bounces Mir off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Joppson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Mir preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joppson pushing down on Mir's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Joppson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Joppson not doing much here.
Joppson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Mir looking for submissions off his back. Joppson is working for a submission of some sort.
Joppson uses his free foot to push down on Mir's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mir.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joppson sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Joppson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mir to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mir shrugs it off. Joppson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Joppson throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Mir tries to get back to half guard but can't. Joppson controlling the position easily from mount. Mir can't escape the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Joppson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jopp Joppson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Frank Mir's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Joppson gets a double leg takedown into Mir's guard. Joppson stands up and waves to Mir to follow him. Joppson closes the distance and pushes Mir back into the cage. Mir tries to pull guard but Joppson holds him up against the cage and eventually Mir drops back down to his feet.
Joppson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Joppson scores to the head and body with a nice combination! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Joppson gets a clinch. Joppson lands a nice elbow. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Joppson breaks from the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joppson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mir's guard. Joppson wants to pass the guard but Mir is keeping the position. Joppson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Joppson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mir is keeping the position for now.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jopp Joppson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Joppson drives through with a takedown into guard. Mir had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Joppson defends it easily. Joppson passes Mir's right leg, so he's now in half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mir actively working from the bottom here. Joppson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Mir is looking to improve his position but Joppson isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joppson thowing shots but they're missing. Joppson controlling from mount. Let's hope that Joppson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Joppson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mir is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Joppson.
Joppson throwing strikes here but Mir is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Joppson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Joppson thowing shots but they're missing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Joppson controlling from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jopp Joppson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Frank Mir's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Joppson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Mir is looking for a sweep. Joppson moves into full mount! Joppson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mir is looking to escape. Joppson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mir kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Joppson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir is trying desperately to improve position. Mir holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Joppson tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Joppson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Joppson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Joppson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir is trying to reverse the position but instead Joppson has taken his back - oops! Joppson missing with strikes from the back. Mir tries to break free.
Mir avoids the strikes from Joppson. Good control from Joppson. Joppson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joppson trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Joppson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Mir is defending well though. Joppson let's go of the attempt for now. Joppson trying to control momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir tries to escape but Joppson has the hooks in and won't let him break free. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Joppson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Mir is working hard here to advance position. Joppson wants to control but Mir is keeping busy. Joppson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Mir knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Mir for a finish. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mir is keeping busy.
And that's the end of the fight! Jopp Joppson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Joppson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
