Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Poldi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Artem Vaits!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaits takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Vaits tries for a takedown but Poldi circles away easily
and Poldi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Poldi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Poldi leaves Vaits with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Poldi connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Vaits tumbling to the canvas! Poldi pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Vaits was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jack Poldi!
After the big win, Jack Poldi made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Hell's Balls Fightwear and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
