Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benito Salizar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sin Cara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sin Cara is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Benito Salizar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sin Cara!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cara stuffs the takedown.

Salizar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Salizar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Salizar stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Cara tries a head kick but it misses.
Cara fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Salizar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cara tries to avoid it but Salizar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cara to the ground. Cara escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cara fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Salizar shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cara napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Salizar working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Cara is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Salizar lands a nice forearm strike.

You can see the frustration on Cara's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Salizar controls the position from side control.

Salizar decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cara to his feet.
Salizar throws a sloppy head kick and Cara moves out of range easily.

Salizar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cara.
Benito Salizar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sin Cara.
Salizar fails with the takedown
and Cara counters with a head kick. That will keep Salizar thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Salizar shoots in and bounces Cara off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Salizar wants to control from the top but Cara keeps moving.
Salizar looking to sit in guard and control but Cara gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Salizar is looking for a triangle but Cara pushes his legs off easily.

Salizar shoots in and drives through. Cara sprawls well.
Salizar is looking to clinch but Cara is avoiding it.
Salizar feints and then cracks Cara's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cara down.
Cara shoots and misses

and Salizar counters with a single leg into guard. Cara didn't expect that.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Benito Salizar just wasn't active enough.
Salizar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cara paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cara throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cara fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Salizar defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cara.
Benito Salizar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sin Cara.
Salizar throws a hook but Cara avoids it easily.
Benito Salizar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Salizar manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cara on his heels. He'll look to pass Cara's guard now, I'm sure.
Salizar looking to sit in guard and control but Cara gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Salizar seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Salizar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Benito Salizar.
Salizar fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Salizar closes the distance and clinches.

Salizar jumps into guard, dragging Cara to the mat.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Salizar holds on and takes a little breather.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cara wants to pass the guard but Salizar is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cara gets tackled into the cage by Salizar. Salizar maintains the clinch.

Salizar has hold of one of Cara's legs. Cara is fighting the takedown attempt but Salizar gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Salizar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Cara escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Salizar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Salizar decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Cara shoots in for a takedown but Salizar shows good takedown defense.

Salizar clinches with his opponent.

Salizar gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Salizar stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Salizar shoots in for a takedown but Cara shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Salizar has his takedown stuffed

and Cara counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Salizar!

Cara goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Salizar turns into him and now he's in Cara's guard.
Salizar wants to control from the top but Cara keeps moving.
Salizar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cara swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Salizar looking to sit in guard and control but Cara gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cara has gone for a leg lock! Salizar slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cara's guard.
Salizar trying to control but Cara is working from the bottom.

Salizar slips nicely into half guard.
Salizar thows a huge punch but Cara dodges it nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Salizar tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cara knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
Benito Salizar showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Salizar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
