Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tom Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rocky King!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from King misses its intended target.
Daniels lunges at King with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by King's hand.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from King is defended easily by Daniels.
Daniels tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. King manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Daniels is looking to clinch but King is avoiding it.
King walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Daniels walks forward, straight into a front kick from King.
King shoots in looking for a takedown but Daniels manages to keep the fight standing, pushing King's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Tom Daniels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King is looking to clinch but Daniels is avoiding it.
King misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Daniels scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
King is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

King is trying to force a seperation but Daniels has the dominant position.

King breaks from the clinch.
Daniels finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Daniels is looking to clinch but King is avoiding it.
Daniels swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by King.

King shoots in and gets a takedown into Daniels's guard.
Daniels has control of King's left arm, preventing King from doing any damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Daniels works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Daniels is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Tom Daniels has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Daniels misses with a low kick.
King wants to clinch up but Daniels keeps it at a distance.
Daniels lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
King gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Horrible takedown by King or perhaps it was just good defense by Daniels which made him look bad.
King shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Daniels as he avoids it easily.

Daniels wants to get back to striking at distance but King won't allow it.
Daniels lands a right hand.
King takes a shot to the head.
Daniels tries to throw a body punch but King avoids it by throwing Daniels back against the cage.

King blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Daniels lands with a right to the head.

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
King shoots in for a takedown but Daniels shows good takedown defense.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Some bone on bone action there as King checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Daniels is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

King is trying to pull guard but Daniels has him pressed against the cage.

Daniels does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Daniels, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
