Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Gargan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gargan's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Gargan duly obliges.
Dean misses with a few strikes there.
Dean circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gargan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dean circles away quickly and effectively.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Dean has eaten all the pies!
A combination from Gargan does no damage.
A jab from Gargan does it's job there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dean.
Gargan stuffs the takedown.
Gargan tries for a takedown but Dean sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gargan wants to clinch.
Gargan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dean.

Gargan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Gargan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gargan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Gargan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dean keeps working.

Dean tries a low kick but Gargan avoids it.
Horrible takedown by Gargan or perhaps it was just good defense by Dean which made him look bad.

Dean slaps away a takedown attempt from Gargan, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Dean shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gargan pinned against the cage. Gargan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gargan tries to clinch up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dean has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Gargan closes the distance and clinches.
Gargan drags the fight down to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dean shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Dean lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dean won't let Gargan get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Gargan is desperately trying to improve his position but Dean has a good base and remains in mount.
Gargan is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Gargan sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Dean is thwarting Gargan's attempts to control the position.
Dean is breathing heavily.

Dean prevents Gargan from standing back up.
Gargan wants to get back to full guard.
Gargan kicks off Dean and gets to his feet.

and Dean counters with a series of strikes. Gargan will be more careful next time no doubt.
Dean shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gargan as he jumps to the side.
Gargan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dean.

Gargan tries to clinch up.
Gargan throws a low kick but Dean moves out of range easily.
Gargan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dean was covering up waiting for the punch and Gargan finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gargan gets to his feet - Dean follows without any prompting.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dean is trying to control. Gargan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Gargan is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Dean has his hands clasped together but Gargan extends an breaks Dean's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Gargan.
