Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frederik Kraus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Rooney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kraus comes to the ring accompanied by Bandolero - Paris Latino. Rooney has chosen Prodigy - Spitfire as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rooney with a lazy takedown attempt
and Kraus counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Rooney fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kraus avoids it really well and circles away.
Rooney has a takedown stuffed.
Frederik Kraus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jamie Rooney.

Rooney shoots in and gets a takedown into Kraus's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Kraus pulls Rooney in close to prevent any damage.
Kraus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rooney is controlling him.
Kraus is trying to keep Rooney in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rooney feints and as Kraus raises his hands in defense, Rooney changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Rooney stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kraus swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rooney gets to his feet - Kraus follows without any prompting.
Rooney will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Rooney clinches up against the ropes.
Kraus misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kraus fails to pull guard.
Rooney goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kraus prevents it.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Rooney just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kraus's brow.
Rooney drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kraus gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Rooney has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kraus is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rooney throws a strike but Kraus rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
