Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shawn Aria!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andrew Andrews!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andrews swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A left lands for Andrews.
Andrews throws a series of strikes that have Aria backpedaling.
Andrews gets caught flat footed, as Aria shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Aria wants to control from the top but Andrews keeps moving.
Andrews will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Andrews looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Aria tries to free his leg and advance position but Andrews is retaining full guard.
Aria drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Aria jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Andrews is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Aria is defending against the submission attempts here by Andrews.
Aria is trying to maintain the position but Andrews is very close to passing his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Andrews is pressing down on Aria's thigh, looking to free his foot. Aria is holding on for now.
Andrews is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Aria defends it well.
Aria wants to improve his position but Andrews is controlling well.
Aria is looking to control Andrews's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Aria avoid being mounted?
Andrews lands with a punch from half guard.
Andrews seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Aria is pressing down on Andrews's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Andrews looking to pass the guard.
Andrews looks gassed!
Aria wants to sweep here but Andrews controlling him for the moment.
Andrews trying to control but Aria is working from the bottom.
Aria really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Aria escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Andrews gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Andrews landing with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Aria has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Andrews should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Aria has tightened it up now! Andrews should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
