Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Silco Deans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Gambino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gambino is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Better. Travis Gambino will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Silco Deans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Travis Gambino!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Deans has Gambino up against the cage in a clinch.

Deans breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Deans sizes up Gambino with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Deans misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Deans rushes Gambino and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Deans breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Deans connects with a jab.
A decent looking cross lands there for Gambino.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gambino throws a sloppy head kick and Deans moves out of range easily.
Deans on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Gambino. Gambino obviously looking to wear him down.
Nice sprawl there from Gambino as Deans shoots in.
Gambino connects with a leg kick. Deans looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Gambino keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Silco Deans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Deans fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gambino on the side of the head.

Gambino misses with a looping right.
Gambino misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Deans swats away the attempt to clinch by Gambino.
Gambino shoots in for a takedown but Deans shows good takedown defense.
Gambino takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Gambino stuffs the takedown attempt from Deans. Deans gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Silco Deans. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gambino throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Deans stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Gambino gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Deans scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Deans stands up and beckons Gambino to his feet.

Gambino misses with a series of wild punches.
Deans throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Deans looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gambino lands a head kick!
Deans checks a low kick from Gambino.
Gambino scores with a jab. Deans acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Deans closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Deans stands up.

Deans looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gambino!
Gambino looks gassed!

Deans stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Gambino throws a head kick that misses.

Gambino gets tackled into the cage by Deans. Deans maintains the clinch.

Deans's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Deans scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Gambino throws out a loose jab but Deans uses good head movement to avoid it.
Deans shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gambino defends it nicely.

Gambino missing with a left hand there. Deans was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Deans is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Deans shoots in but Gambino avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gambino fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gambino bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Deans escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Deans throws a hook to the side of Gambino's head but Gambino sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Deans shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gambino as he avoids it easily.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Deans throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gambino sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Deans shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gambino defends it nicely.
Deans throws a big shot that misses.

Deans moves into the clinch.

Deans's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gambino. Deans does a little dance to reset his feet.
Deans avoids the head kick by Gambino.
Deans is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gambino.
Deans is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Gambino works Deans's body with a nice hook.
Deans throws an overhand right that lands on Gambino's shoulder, as Gambino tries to avoid the shot.
Travis Gambino is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Deans shoots in and drives through. Gambino sprawls well.

Deans breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gambino closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Gambino doesn't manage to clinch there - Deans circles away.
Deans takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A jab from Deans finds it's way through Gambino's defenses.
Gambino fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Deans has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Deans slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Deans decides to stand back up. Deans steps back and let's Gambino get back to his feet.

Gambino throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Deans counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gambino won't be happy with that.

Deans has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Deans fails with a takedown attempt.
Deans fails to land the takedown.
Deans shoots in but no luck this time.

Deans forces Gambino back against the cage and clinches.

Deans breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Deans is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Silco Deans dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Deans closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gambino quickly recovers to half guard.
Gambino is trying to get back to full guard.

Deans decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Gambino gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Deans to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Gambino takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Deans is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gambino has escaped the position, nice work there.

Deans decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Deans lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Deans thuds a left hand into Gambino's body.

Deans closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gambino to the mat! Gambino manages to get full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Deans stands and steps away. Gambino gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Gambino gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Deans gets to his feet. Gambino looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Gambino gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Deans is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gambino can do to turn this around?
Gambino misses with a head kick.
Silco Deans is winning the standup battle so far.
Deans digs a good body shot into Gambino's ribs.

Good exchange - Deans coming out on top.
Horrible takedown by Deans or perhaps it was just good defense by Gambino which made him look bad.

Deans lands with an uppercut that bounces Gambino off the cage and back into range.

Silco Deans showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Deans has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
