Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Jones!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia misses with a few strikes there.
Jones feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Garcia's calf.
Nice uppercut lands for Jones. That snapped Garcia's head back.
Garcia shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jones eats them both and turns towards Garcia to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Garcia throws a body kick the misses
and Jones counters with a left and a right that stings Garcia.
Garcia tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Garcia fails with the takedown

and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Garcia!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Garcia wants to control but Jones is having none of it.

Jones jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Garcia is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Garcia and Jones has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Jones lands a big shot there that rocks Garcia but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Garcia bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Garcia drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jones dives on top into guard.

Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jones gets to his feet. Garcia looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Garcia counters with a two punch combo.
Garcia misses with a takedown attempt

so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Garcia is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jones is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garcia wants to control but Jones is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garcia shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

You can see the frustration on Garcia's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Garcia tries to buck Jones off but Jones is having none of it.

Jones is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Garcia shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Garcia's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Garcia keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.

Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Jones stands and steps away. Garcia gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Garcia sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Garcia sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jones wants to control but Garcia is keeping him busy.
Garcia is trying is best to control the position here.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Garcia is defending well.
Jones is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones has hold of Garcia's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Garcia manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Jones looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Garcia!

Jones is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Garcia to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Garcia shrugs it off.

Jones is working for a guillotine from mount but Garcia frees his head quite easily.
Jones takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jones is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Garcia can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Garcia wants to hold on but Jones pushes him away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

John Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
