Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mijail Bakunin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregores Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez has chosen Paleface- Helsinki-Shangri-La as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bakunin misses with a body kick.
Mendez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bakunin tries to avoid it but Mendez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bakunin to the ground. Bakunin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bakunin lands a lovely overhand right.
Mendez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Mendez dives in and grabs Bakunin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bakunin pushes down on Mendez's head and hops out.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nice uppercut there from Bakunin.
Mendez takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Bakunin looks to land a right hand but Mendez moved out of range.
Mijail Bakunin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bakunin tries to bum rush Mendez with a series of wild strikes but Mendez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bakunin throws a nice looking combination but Mendez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bakunin jabs Mendez right on the nose. Mendez blinks but takes it well.
Bakunin throws a right hand that Mendez ducks under and follows up with a left that Mendez also avoids with ease.

Mendez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bakunin pinned against the cage. Bakunin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mijail Bakunin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gregores Mendez.
Mendez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bakunin misses with a body shot.
Mendez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bakunin.
Bakunin misses with an uppercut.
Bakunin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bakunin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mendez is trying desperately to land a takedown but Bakunin is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Mendez.

Mendez dodges the punch combination from Bakunin.
Mendez takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The fighters circling - Mendez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mendez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bakunin counters with a nice leg kick.

Mendez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bakunin.
Mendez fails with a takedown attempt.
Mendez shoots in for a takedown but Bakunin shows good takedown defense.

Mendez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bakunin but Bakunin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A telegraphed right hand from Bakunin misses the target.
Mendez fails with a takedown attempt.
Bakunin lands with a shot to the body.
Mendez looks gassed!
Bakunin works Mendez's body with a nice hook.
Bakunin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Oooooh!!! Bakunin has knocked Mendez down with a huge combo! Bakunin steps away and waves a wobbly Mendez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Gregores Mendez has been cut.

Bakunin drops Mendez with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mendez looks back up at him and smiles so Bakunin waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Mendez is rocked!
Mendez doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Mendez is still on wobbly legs! Can Bakunin finish him?
Bakunin steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Mendez is out on his feet! Bakunin sets himself and nearly takes Mendez's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
