0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack BlackBelt! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ranger drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Ranger pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. BlackBelt is keeping the position for now. BlackBelt throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Ranger escapes and throws BlackBelt's legs to the side, diving into side control! BlackBelt is looking for a sweep. Ranger knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for BlackBelt on the ground. Ranger wants to stand but BlackBelt has his arm trapped. BlackBelt is looking for a sweep. BlackBelt is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ranger lands with a slapping head kick.

Ranger closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. BlackBelt tries to score a body lock takedown but Ranger shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Ranger breaks the clinch.

Horrible takedown by Ranger or perhaps it was just good defense by BlackBelt which made him look bad.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ranger is looking to clinch but BlackBelt is avoiding it.

BlackBelt keeps the fight on the outside. Speedstar Ranger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. BlackBelt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ranger tries to avoid it but BlackBelt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ranger to the ground. Ranger escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ranger tries to clinch up. Ranger tries to clinch up. Ranger tries to clinch but BlackBelt is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ranger is looking to clinch. Ranger tries to close the distance and clinch up but BlackBelt swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ranger clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. BlackBelt keeps control of Ranger as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Ranger misses with a knee to the head. BlackBelt is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ranger lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. BlackBelt tries for a takedown but Ranger manages to get underhooks.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. BlackBelt gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ranger.

Speedstar Ranger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack BlackBelt. Ranger holding his opponent close, against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ranger fails with the takedown and BlackBelt counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ranger keeping full guard, as BlackBelt tries to pass. BlackBelt is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. BlackBelt wants to pass the guard but Ranger is keeping the position. Ranger looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. BlackBelt drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and BlackBelt jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. BlackBelt tries to free his leg and advance position but Ranger is retaining full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. BlackBelt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ranger looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. BlackBelt thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. BlackBelt wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ranger keeps working. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. BlackBelt tries to advance to mount but Ranger denies him. BlackBelt tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ranger wants to control but BlackBelt postures up. BlackBelt advances to full mount. BlackBelt goes for an armbar but Ranger turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Ranger. BlackBelt wants to sweep here but Ranger controlling him for the moment. There's a bit of a scramble here and now BlackBelt is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack BlackBelt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Ranger is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ranger tries for a takedown but BlackBelt circles away easily and BlackBelt counters with a single leg into guard. Ranger didn't expect that. Ranger clinches up with BlackBelt and pushes him back against the cage. BlackBelt looking for a takedown. BlackBelt is working for takedown but Ranger is calmly controlling the position for now. BlackBelt wants a takedown but no success here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ranger tries to clinch there but BlackBelt circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ranger looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ranger with a lazy takedown attempt and BlackBelt counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ranger! BlackBelt throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. BlackBelt is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ranger has managed to escape the submission attempt.
