The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Smith connects with a good right hand that stumbles Morgan. Morgan circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Morgan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smith.
Jab by Smith.
Morgan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Smith lands with a nice combination. Morgan backs away looking to recover.
Morgan shoots in and bounces Smith off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Morgan advances to half guard.
Morgan content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Morgan is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Smith!
Morgan connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
It looks like John Smith has been cut.
Morgan controlling the position easily from mount.

Let's hope that Morgan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Morgan is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Smith goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Morgan!
