Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between BJ Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Faulkner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, BJ Wood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Randy Faulkner! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wood's jab looks to have found its range, popping Faulkner under the eye. Wood throws out a leg kick but Faulkner moves out of range and Wood only half commits. Faulkner motions for Wood to come forward. Faulkner throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Wood on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Wood is breathing heavily. Faulkner misses with a head kick.
Wood looks to score with a jab to the body but Faulkner is just out of range. Wood looks to land a body kick but Faulkner moved away. Faulkner drives through with a takedown into guard. Faulkner not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Faulkner won't allow Wood to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wood keeping full guard, as Faulkner tries to pass. Faulkner controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Faulkner wants to pass the guard but Wood is keeping the position. Wood wants to stand but Faulkner is controlling the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Randy Faulkner. Faulkner moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Faulkner drives through with a takedown into guard. Wood keeping full guard, as Faulkner tries to pass. Faulkner stops Wood from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Faulkner slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Wood is looking to stand up but Faulkner isn't so interested in that idea. Faulkner tries to stand but Wood is controlling from the bottom. Wood looking to control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Faulkner chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Faulkner lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Wood at a distance.
Faulkner shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Wood is trying to maintain the position but Faulkner is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wood is looking to improve his position.
Faulkner is pressing down on Wood's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wood is holding on for now. Faulkner seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wood does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Faulkner prevents Wood from improving his position. Faulkner is working for a submission of some sort.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wood chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Faulkner can pounce on him.
Faulkner lands a lovely overhand right. Faulkner scores with a spinning back kick! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Faulkner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wood napping and manages to drive through into side control! Faulkner thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Faulkner working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wood avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Faulkner.
That's one minute gone in the round. The strikes coming from Faulkner are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Faulkner working away. Wood tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Faulkner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Wood takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Faulkner looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Faulkner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wood keeps working. Faulkner in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Faulkner slows the pace down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wood is looking to regain half guard here but Faulkner keeps moving and retains side control. Faulkner postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Wood gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Faulkner has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Faulkner with good strikes from the mount here! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wood is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Wood wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Faulkner.
Faulkner punching from mount but Wood doing a good job of avoiding damage. Faulkner is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wood can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Wood is desperately trying to improve his position but Faulkner has a good base and remains in mount. Faulkner looking to ground and pound but Wood is blocking nicely. Faulkner throws some wild stikes that Wood manages to avoid easily.
Faulkner working for a submission but Wood is keeping him at bay. Wood blocking the ground and pound. BJ Wood has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wood can't escape the position.
Faulkner thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Randy Faulkner has got the better of the ground game so far.

Faulkner sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Wood is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Faulkner is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Wood is surviving well by controlling Faulkner's body position as best he can. Wood tries to lock up and control but Faulkner gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Wood holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Faulkner tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wood wants to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight! Randy Faulkner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Faulkner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
