Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Hosking (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Montana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hosking might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to War Machine. Montana has chosen Glass Joe as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matthew Hosking! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Montana! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hosking tries to score a power double leg takedown but Montana sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hosking somewhat. Hosking closes the distance and pushes Montana back into the cage. Hosking looking for a takedown. With the fighters up against the cage, Hosking throws an elbow but misses. Montana lands a right hand that snaps the head of Hosking backwards. Montana's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hosking misses with a takedown attempt and Montana counters with a two punch combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matthew Hosking. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hosking shoots in looking for a takedown. Montana tries to sprawl out of it but Hosking keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Montana manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hosking moves in looking to clinch but Montana pushes him off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hosking is trying hard to land a takedown here. Montana sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Hosking defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Montana. Montana rushes Hosking and presses him up against the cage. Montana avoiding damage.
Hosking is trying to pull guard but Montana has him pressed against the cage. Hosking is working for takedown but Montana is calmly controlling the position for now. Montana lands a shoulder strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hosking jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Montana walks away with a smile on his face. Hosking gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Hosking on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Hosking tries to clinch but fails miserably and Montana counters with a lovely shot to the body. Montana connects with a right hand. Hosking shakes it off. Hosking has a takedown stuffed. Hosking is breathing heavily. Montana lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Matthew Hosking seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hosking drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Hosking tries for a takedown but Montana sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hosking looks to clinch and Montana counters with a nice uppercut. Montana connects with a body shot that sends Hosking's belly button to the back. An inside leg kick lands from Montana. Hosking tries to clinch but Montana is having none of it. Hosking has his takedown stuffed and Montana counters with a straight right hand. Montana clinches. Montana pushes Hosking back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Hosking wants a takedown but no success here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montana gets underhooks to prevent Hosking's takedown attempt.
Montana has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Montana manages to break the clinch.
Montana gets the takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. The referee asks Montana politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Montana prefers to stall for the moment though. Montana trying to control the action but Hosking is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Montana is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hosking's shoulder. That is not cool. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Montana dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A chopping leg kick lands by Montana. Hosking walks into a stiff left hand from Montana. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Montana.
Montana shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hosking as he avoids it easily. Montana is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Montana lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Montana scores with a jab to the head.
A nice leg kick lands there from Montana. Montana closes the distance and clinches up with Hosking, looking for a takedown. Montana pushes Hosking against the cage but Hosking circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montana connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Hosking misses with a takedown attempt and Montana counters by clinching up. Hosking wants a takedown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Montana lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Montana gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Montana passes the guard and advances to mount! Montana working for a guillotine from mount but Hosking is in no mood to give up. Montana working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Montana in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montana controlling his opponent. Montana can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hosking is looking to escape. Montana is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hosking has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Montana tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hosking is trying desperately to improve position. Montana wants to control the pace but Hosking is squirming around nicely. Montana working for a guillotine from mount but Hosking is in no mood to give up. Montana breaks from Hosking's wrist control and lands an elbow. Montana takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hosking is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hosking is trying to reverse the position but instead Montana has taken his back - oops! Montana lands shots from the back. Montana is hanging on to Hosking's back as he tries to escape.
Montana is looking to finish with some ground and pound! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Montana softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Hosking prevents Montana from getting a body triangle. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Montana is cranking Hosking's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Hosking! He's tightened the choke and Hosking is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Joe Montana!
