Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roger McMillan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Rink!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMillan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Roger McMillan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rink tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McMillan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rink shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McMillan as he jumps to the side.
Rink shoots in but no luck this time.
McMillan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rink to the mat! Rink manages to get full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
McMillanis looking to pass into half guard but Rink pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Rink is in guard.
McMillan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rink!
Rink is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McMillan putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Rink really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McMillan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McMillan avoids the attempt from Rink to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rink takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McMillan loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Rink scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from McMillan land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. McMillan stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roger McMillan!
