Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Lyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cale Sanders Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Lyle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cale Sanders Son! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanders Son misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Sanders Son connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Lyle tries to clinch but Sanders Son is having none of it. Lyle lands with a slapping head kick. Lyle lands a head kick that stumbles Sanders Son and the fighters go to the mat.
Sanders Son is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lyle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sanders Son is still in real trouble! Can Lyle finish him? Sanders Son wants to stand up but Lyle is controlling him. Sanders Son seems to have recovered his senses. Lyle content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Lyle wants to control from the top but Sanders Son keeps moving. Lyle throws a big right hand that misses. Sanders Son keeping moving, preventing Lyle from controlling successfully. Lyle slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lyle tries to score with some ground and pound. Sanders Son controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Lyle goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Sanders Son rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Lyle's guard! Nice work there by Sanders Son! Sanders Son really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lyle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sanders Son avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lyle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lyle has his foot on Sanders Son's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sanders Son works his way back into a safe position though. Lyle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sanders Son defends well. Sanders Son must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lyle throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanders Son preventing the sweep. Sanders Son wants to get up but he can't break Lyle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Sanders Son preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lyle escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sanders Son gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lyle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sanders Son defends well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lyle manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sanders Son manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Lyle dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lyle displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sanders Son. Lyle connects with a solid leg kick. Cale Sanders Son seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sanders Son shoots in but no luck this time. Lyle scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Sanders Son misses with a wild combination.

Lyle lands with a thumping leg kick.
Lyle throws a head kick that misses. Lyle tries a head kick but it misses.
Lyle bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Jon Lyle is winning the standup battle so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lyle ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sanders Son moves away. Lyle bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Sanders Son is breathing heavily. Lyle fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lyle lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Lyle lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Lyle scores with a nice right hand.
Lyle throws a body punch but Sanders Son moves out of range. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sanders Son is defended easily by Lyle. Jon Lyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cale Sanders Son. Lyle lands a front kick. Lyle scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lyle sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Sanders Son to the ground! Lyle dives into full mount looking to finish! Lyle is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Sanders Son is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Sanders Son flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Lyle anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Sanders Son and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Lyle slips an arm under Sanders Son chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Lyle has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Lyle is squeezing on Sanders Son like an anaconda would it's prey. Sanders Son fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
