The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson circles away from the clinch attempt
and Thompson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Thompson looks for a takedown but Walburn sprawls well.

Thompson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Walburn walks away with a smile on his face. Thompson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Thompson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Walburn tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Thompson is in Walburn's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

That was a close round but I would say that Cary Thompson will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cary Thompson.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Thompson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
