Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Jiminez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gabriel Jiminez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tommy Fire! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gabriel Jiminez! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Bruno Lombardi and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jiminez wants to clinch and Fire decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jiminez's guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Jiminez wants to sweep but no luck. Fire throws an elbow that misses. Jiminez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fire's guard. Nice move by Jiminez! Jiminez trying to move into half guard but instead Fire has managed to sweep! Jiminez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fire manages to get himself to full guard.
Jiminez trying to control the position from guard on top but Fire is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fire looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Jiminez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fire is keeping the position for now. Jiminez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jiminez trying to control the position from guard on top but Fire is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jiminez darts in trying to clinch and Fire counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jiminez controlling Fire's posture. Fire trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Fire throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Fire looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fire postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Fire throwing strikes but missing. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jiminez can do anything to dispel that myth. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Jiminez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Fire with a flurry of punches that miss. Jiminez wants to stand and escape but Fire is having none of it. Fire postures up in Jiminez's guard and throws a big left but Jiminez blocks it. Fire throws an elbow that misses. Jiminez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fire's guard. Nice move by Jiminez!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jiminez wants to control from the top but Fire keeps moving. Jiminez is stalling in the full guard. Fire can't keep his opponent in guard - Jiminez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jiminez not doing much here.
Fire is not content to let Jiminez control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tommy Fire will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Fire circles away from the clinch attempt and Fire counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jiminez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fire accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jiminez is pulling down on Fire's head. It's preventing any offense from Fire, at least for the moment. Jiminez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jiminez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fire is looking to escape. Jiminez controlling from the full mount. Fire is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Fire tries to hold on but Jiminez pushes him away. Fire is squirming around, avoiding Jiminez's attempts to control the action. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Fire is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Tommy Fire overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jiminez throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Fire is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jiminez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Jiminez controlling his opponent. Jiminez trying to control but Fire is having none of it. Jiminez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Gabriel Jiminez wasn't active enough on the ground. Jiminez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Fire manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jiminez darts in trying to clinch and Fire counters with a takedown into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Gabriel Jiminez will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Jiminez darts in and clinches Fire up against the cage. Jiminez tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Fire's elbow. Jiminez is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Fire can't fight it off and eventually Jiminez manages to take the fight to the floor. Fire looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jiminez is stalling in the full guard. Jiminez tries to free his leg and advance position but Fire is retaining full guard. Jiminez content to stall in guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fire wants to sweep here but Jiminez controlling him for the moment. Fire seems keen to control Jiminez's posture.
Tommy Fire has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Jiminez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fire paws at him with a jab and circles away. Jiminez moves to clinch but Fire breaks away and Fire counters with a takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fire working the ground and pound but Jiminez is defending the strikes. Jiminez is looking to regain half guard here but Fire keeps moving and retains side control. Fire throws a strike aimed at the side of Jiminez's head but Jiminez avoids it well. Jiminez struggling a bit here. An elbow from Fire crashes against the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jiminez manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Fire moves into full guard.
Fire wants to stand up but Jiminez is controlling him. Jiminez throws a big elbow that misses. Jiminez passes into half guard. Jiminez seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Fire is looking to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jiminez tries to pass the half guard into mount. Fire knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Fire trying to control but Jiminez postures up.
Fire won't allow Jiminez to pass to mount. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Fire has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jiminez is working away from the top position though.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Gabriel Jiminez. I think Jiminez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
