Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Santino Carelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edmundo Edilhson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Carelli might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to La Vittoria è Mia. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Santino Carelli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edmundo Edilhson! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edilhson lands with an overhand left. Carelli tries for a takedown but Edilhson circles away easily and Edilhson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Carelli on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Edilhson throws a sloppy head kick and Carelli moves out of range easily. Carelli with a lazy takedown attempt and Edilhson counters with a left and a right that stings Carelli. Edilhson lands with a nice body punch. Edilhson stalks Carelli and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Carelli's face. Carelli staggers backwards, shaken.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edilhson misses with a straight right. Carelli with a poor takedown and Edilhson counters with a low kick, right behind Carelli 's knee. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Santino Carelli. That's going to take a lot out of him. Edilhson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carelli circles away quickly and effectively. Edilhson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Carelli's sensitive parts. Edmundo Edilhson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Some wild striking there from Edilhson.
Carelli drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A bone on bone clash there as Edilhson blocks the leg kick.
Carelli misses with a takedown and Edilhson counters with a two punch combo. Edilhson throws a series of punches but Carelli avoids them all with ease. Carelli shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Edilhson throws a series of punches but Carelli moves out of range. Edmundo Edilhson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Carelli tries for a takedown but Edilhson circles away easily and Edilhson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carelli has his takedown stuffed and Edilhson counters with a leg kick. Carelli with a poor takedown and Edilhson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Carelli. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Edilhson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Edilhson throws a series of strikes that have Carelli backpedaling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carelli stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Edilhson. Left hook, right uppercut from Edilhson. Edilhson fails to land with a series of punches.
Edilhson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Carelli misses with a takedown and Edilhson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A right-left combo lands from Edilhson. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carelli drops his hands momentarily and Edilhson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. A left and a right from Edilhson both land. Nice combination. Carelli takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Santino Carelli is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Edilhson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Edilhson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carelli circles away quickly and effectively. Carelli shoots in and gets a takedown into Edilhson's guard. Carelli looking to pass the guard. Edilhson is trying to control the position but Carelli postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edilhson keeping moving, preventing Carelli from controlling successfully. Edilhson trying to keep a closed guard but Carelli is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Edmundo Edilhson was stalling too much, according to the referee. Carelli gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Edilhson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Carelli's knee momentarily. Carelli with a poor takedown and Edilhson counters with a straight right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Edilhson looks to land a combination but Carelli avoids it well. Carelli shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Edilhson counters with a one-two to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Santino Carelli. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carelli with a poor takedown and Edilhson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Carelli dodges the punch combination from Edilhson.

Carelli misses with a takedown attempt and Edilhson counters with a series of strikes. Carelli will be more careful next time no doubt. Carelli gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Edilhson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carelli shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Edilhson counters with a straight right hand. Edilhson scores with a hook. Carelli checks a leg kick. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carelli doesn't succeed with the takedown and Edilhson counters with a nice body shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Edmundo Edilhson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Edilhson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Carelli moves away. Edilhson throws a nice looking combination but Carelli bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Edilhson looks to land a combination but Carelli avoids it well. Edilhson scores with a jab to the body. Carelli fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Edilhson to the ground. Carelli is now in Edilhson's guard. Carelli looking to sit in guard and control but Edilhson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Edilhson wants to control from the top but Carelli keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carelli has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Edilhson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Edilhson throws a big right hand that misses. Edilhson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Carelli stops Edilhson from passing to mount. Carelli is looking to reverse the position. Edilhson trying to control the position but Carelli is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carelli sneaks back into half guard. Carelli looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carelli tries to roll over but Edilhson keeps him under control. Edilhson wants to pass the guard but Carelli is defending well. Carelli is trying to get back to full guard. Carelli with the active half guard here but Edilhson passes nicely into side control. Edmundo Edilhson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carelli manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Edilhson wants to take a breather but Carelli is having none of it. Carelli looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Edilhson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carelli does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Carelli gets back to full guard.
Edilhson is stalling in the full guard. Carelli working for a triangle but Edilhson defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carelli keeping moving, preventing Edilhson from controlling successfully. Edilhson tries to free his leg and advance position but Carelli is retaining full guard. Carelli working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Edilhson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Edilhson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Carelli throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carelli isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Edilhson stacks Carelli on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Edilhson!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Santino Carelli. I think Edilhson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
