Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Chris Redfield! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronald Belford Scott! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redfield changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Scott tries to avoid it but Redfield manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Scott to the ground. Scott escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Scott tries to clinch there but Redfield circles away.
Scott connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Redfield shoots in for a takedown but Scott shows good takedown defense. Redfield dives in and grabs Scott's left leg, looking for a takedown. Scott pushes down on Redfield's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Redfield. That's going to take a lot out of him. Redfield scores with a leg kick.
Redfield fails to land the takedown. Redfield tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Scott swivels and escapes. Scott connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Redfield is rocked! Scott lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Redfield is looking to close the distance but Scott sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Redfield crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Redfield is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
