Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Rudd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Goss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rudd comes into the arena with Bob Marley - Get Up Stand Up blaring out of the sound system. Goss has chosen Sybreed: Emma-0 as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Rudd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joseph Goss! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goss darts in trying to clinch enabling Rudd to counter with a crisp jab. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Goss, right into the meat.
Goss fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Rudd swats away the attempt to clinch by Goss. Goss gets a takedown into half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Goss lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. This has been an exciting period of action! Goss thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rudd's head. Rudd tries to roll over but Goss keeps him under control. Rudd is trying to stand back up but Goss is controlling him

Goss is thwarting Rudd's attempts to control the position. Goss is trying to work for a kimura but Rudd is defending well.
Goss sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rudd defending well though. Rudd actively working from the bottom here. Goss lands strikes from half guard. Goss looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rudd works his way to full guard. Good work. Goss landing with the ground and pound. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rudd avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Goss throws a big right hand that misses. Goss working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Goss postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Goss throwing strikes from guard but Rudd blocks nicely. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Goss can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Goss with a nice head shot there.

Goss scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Rudd is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Goss trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Goss working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Goss's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Goss postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Goss throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Goss throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rudd works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Goss preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Goss tries to free his leg and advance position but Rudd is retaining full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Rudd working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Goss. Goss looking to pass the guard. Rudd uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Goss gets a clinch. Goss tries a knee to the head but Rudd blocks it.
Rudd tries to break free but Goss pushes him back against the cage. Goss utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Rudd is breathing heavily. Goss is pressed up against the cage. Rudd has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Goss down to the mat. Goss avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Goss moves in looking to clinch but Rudd pushes him off. Rudd looks to land a combination but Goss avoids it well. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Goss gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joseph Goss dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Rudd dives in and grabs Goss's left leg, looking for a takedown. Goss pushes down on Rudd's head and hops out. Horrible takedown by Rudd or perhaps it was just good defense by Goss which made him look bad. Goss is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Goss throws a head kick that misses. Goss changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rudd looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Rudd is trying to get back to half guard. Goss cracks Rudd with a big right hand but Rudd just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Goss creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Goss tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Goss has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goss working the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ground and pound from Goss seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Goss is chipping away with strikes.
Rudd taking a bit of punishment here - Goss scoring with strikes. Rudd managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Goss.
Goss is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rudd is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Goss creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rudd sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Joseph Goss has got the better of the ground game so far. Rudd is looking for a sweep. Rudd is trying to control Goss's posture but Goss avoids it. Goss misses with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rudd taking a bit of punishment here - Goss scoring with strikes. Goss is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rudd is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rudd manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Goss drops an elbow to the side of Rudd's head. Goss throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Rudd to regain full guard. Goss postures up and lands a big shot to Rudd's brow. Goss keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rudd's head. Rudd preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Goss postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rudd is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Goss, into his guard. Rudd wants to control from the top but Goss keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goss working for a triangle but Rudd defends it easily.
Rudd trying to control but Goss is working from the bottom. Goss is striking off his back. Rudd thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Goss has hold of Rudd's hands but Rudd slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Rudd trying to pass the guard but Goss defending well. Goss misses with some strikes from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Goss is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rudd pulls his head out easily. Goss tries to roll over but Rudd keeps him under control. Rudd is looking for a kimura here.
