Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eddy Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Payne!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone fails with a takedown attempt.
Payne avoids a punch combination nicely.
Stone throws a head kick that misses.
Stone lands with an uppercut that bounces Payne off the cage and back into range.
Stone throws a half hearted mid kick.
Payne throws a lazy right hand but Stone sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stone falls off balance throwing a combination
and Payne counters with a three punch combo that has Stone backing up. Stone nods at Payne to acknowledge the strikes.
Sloppy strikes from Payne. Those never looked like landing.
Payne pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Stone throws a push kick but Payne slaps the foot to one side.

Payne tries a head kick but it misses.

Payne tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stone swivels and escapes.

Stone drives through with a takedown into Payne's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Payne holds on and takes a little breather.
Stone has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Stone stalks Payne and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Payne's face. Payne staggers backwards, shaken.

The fighters circle momentarily. Stone darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eddy Stone will probably get the nod.

Stone stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stone wants it to stay on the feet.
Payne will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Stone has a hand on Payne's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Payne takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Alex Payne has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Payne thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eddy Stone.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stone, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
