Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colby Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Colby Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patrick Willis! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Willis moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Willis avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smith listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Smith fails to land with a series of punches.
Willis lands with an overhand left. Smith pushes Willis away with a front kick. Willis connects with the punch. Willis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Smith misses with a wild combination.
Willis pushes Smith up against the cage in a clinch. Willis manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Smith wants to break free but Willis has control.
Smith is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Willis scores with a nice hook to the head. Willis stalling in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Willis looking for a takedown. Smith being controlled against the cage. Smith is trying to break free. Smith tries to break the clinch but Willis is controlling the position. Willis gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Willis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Willis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Willis scoring with some ground and pound. Willis stops Smith from standing up. Willis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Smith works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Willis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Willis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Willis postures up in Smith's guard and throws a big left but Smith blocks it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Willis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Willis stays in close to Smith's body and controls the position. Willis postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Willis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Willis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Willis on the ground. Willis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Willis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Willis works over Smith with some ground and pound from guard. Smith avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Willis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Smith is breathing heavily. Willis working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Willis chips away with some ground and pound. Smith preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Willis working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Smith's head.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Willis drops back looking for a leg! Smith is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smith manages to kick Willis off! Willis jumps back into Smith's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Willis lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Willis scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Willis chips away with some ground and pound. Smith preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Willis trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Smith manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Willis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Willis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Willis is pushing down on Smith's leg trying to pass to half guard. Smith is fighting to maintain full guard but Willis has managed to sneak the leg through. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick Willis dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Some bone on bone action there as Smith checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. A combination from Smith does no damage. The fight moves into the clinch position. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Willis. Willis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Smith's efforts to push away. Willis has Smith pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Smith manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Smith wants to break free but Willis has control.

Willis changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Smith fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Willis tries for a takedown but Smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Colby Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Willis. Smith throws a series of punches but Willis avoids them all with ease. Willis showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smith.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smith throws a nice looking combination but Willis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Willis checks a low kick from Smith. Willis gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Smith. Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Willis moves out of range easily. Willis clinches up with Smith and pushes him back against the cage. Willis misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Smith.

Willis displaying some good clinch control by pressing Smith up against the cage. Willis is trying to trip Smith. He has hold of a leg but Smith is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Willis persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Smith is rocked! Willis is in close to Smith's body, working some short punches and elbows. Oh Smith is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Willis working some strikes from top position. Willis postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Smith covers up, he's hurt! Willis keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Willis and the ref steps in to end the fight! Willis can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
