Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Bird duly obliges.
Sloppy strikes from Kelly. Those never looked like landing.
Bird darts in trying to clinch
and Kelly counters with a series of strikes. Bird will be more careful next time no doubt.
Bird gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Bird is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kelly stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bird tries a head kick but it misses.

Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kelly - that will leave a mark!

Bird tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bird throws a right hand that Kelly ducks under and follows up with a left that Kelly also avoids with ease.
Kelly thumps Bird with a low kick.
Kelly jabs Bird right on the nose. Bird blinks but takes it well.
Bird throws a sloppy head kick
and Kelly counters with a nice body kick.
Bird throws a lazy head kick
and Kelly decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bird's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bird is breathing heavily.
Kelly decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bird, up you get!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kelly, right into the meat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kelly circles away from the clinch attempt
and Kelly counters with a slapping leg kick.
Bird with a lazy takedown attempt
and Kelly counters with a stiff right hand.
Kelly throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Kelly scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
A left and a right from Kelly both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Steven Bird has been cut.

Kelly throws a one two combo.
Kelly scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Kelly closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kelly stands up.
Bird takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Kelly shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bird manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kelly decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bird, up you get!

Bird doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kelly counters with a solid body kick.

Kelly shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Kelly lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Bird wants to sweep here but Kelly controlling him for the moment.
Kelly works over Bird with some ground and pound from guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kelly gets to his feet. Bird looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kelly rushes Bird and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kelly landing knees to the head.
Kelly gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Bird looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kelly forces his way into half guard.

Kelly prevents Bird from improving his position.
Kelly is working for a kimura but Bird is defending it quite comfortably.
Kelly prevents Bird from standing back up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bird on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Kelly dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Steven Bird's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Kelly closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kelly lands in his opponent's guard.
Kelly is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
James Kelly has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kelly is working Bird over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Bird not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bird wants to control the position but Kelly says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Kelly decides to stand up.
James Kelly seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kelly throws a nice head kick!
Kelly takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Kelly defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bird.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kelly thumps Bird with a low kick.
Kelly blocks a head kick by Bird.
Kelly connects with a body shot that sends Bird's belly button to the back.

and Kelly counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kelly.

Kelly pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kelly lands with a nice combination. Bird backs away looking to recover.

Kelly gets a double leg takedown into Bird's guard.

Kelly throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kelly controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kelly decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Bird is looking to clinch but Kelly is avoiding it.
Bird throws a sloppy head kick
and Kelly counters with a nice kick to the body.
Kelly moves into range and clinches up with Bird.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kelly breaks from the clinch.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Bird enables Kelly to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bird manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kelly lets loose with a powerful body kick. Bird will feel that in the morning.
Bird throws a sloppy head kick
and Kelly counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bird's knee momentarily.
Left hook, right uppercut from Kelly.
Kelly connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bird momentarily.
Kelly with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Steven Bird seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kelly plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Kelly has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kelly has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Bird regains guard immediately.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bird looking for a triangle here. Kelly is fighting it but it looks tight! Bird pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Kelly is tapping out - this one is all over!

Steven Bird tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
