Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ilkka Mursu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alvaro Ibanez Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mursu comes to the cage accompanied by Someday I'll be the Champ. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ilkka Mursu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alvaro Ibanez Santos! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mursu lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Mursu scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The strikes coming from Mursu are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Mursu swings around for an armbar but Santos sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mursu's guard. Santos passes Mursu's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Santos moves nicely into side control. Santos is looking to take a break and control but Mursu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mursu tries to bench press Santos off him but Santos keeps the position. Santos trying to control the position but Mursu is working away. Mursu sneaks back into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Santos content to control rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos trying to control from Mursu's half guard. Mursu has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Mursu keeping moving, preventing Santos from controlling successfully. Santos is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santos drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mursu looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mursu looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mursu! Santos is trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos struggling a bit here. Mursu grinds an elbow into Santos's temple. You can see the frustration on Santos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Mursu lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Santos down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Santos tries to improve position but can't. Mursu lands a nice forearm strike. Mursu working the body and head with strikes. Mursu goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Santos rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Mursu's guard! Nice work there by Santos! Santos postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mursu is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Santos, into his guard. Mursu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mursu distracts Santos with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mursu postures up and lands a big shot to Santos's brow. Santos has his foot on Mursu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mursu works his way back into a safe position though. Mursu landing some decent shots from guard. Santos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mursu landing with the ground and pound. Santos working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mursu. Santos looking for a triangle here. Mursu is fighting it but it looks tight! Santos pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Mursu is tapping out - this one is all over!
