Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Third Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Rolston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is New York. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Third Boy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Rolston!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rolston lands a leg kick that knocks Boy off balance momentarily.
Boy tries to land a body kick
and Rolston counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Rolston misses with a few strikes there.
Boy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Boy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rolston.
Third Boy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rolston swivels and escapes.
Boy just misses with a punch to the body.
Boy shoots for a takedown but Rolston saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Third Boy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rolston defends it nicely.
Rolston throws a series of punches but Boy moves out of range.
Boy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Rolston lands with a nice combination. Boy backs away looking to recover.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Horrible takedown by Boy or perhaps it was just good defense by Rolston which made him look bad.

Rolston misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rolston avoids the head kick by Boy.
Boy throws out a loose jab but Rolston uses good head movement to avoid it.
Boy shoots for a takedown but Rolston saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Rolston closes the distance and clinches.

Boy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Boy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Boy wants to sweep here but Rolston controlling him for the moment.
Boy keeping moving, preventing Rolston from controlling successfully.
Rolston is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rolston wanted to stand there but Boy had control of the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. James Rolston hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Rolston plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Rolston throws a head kick but Boy moves out of range.
Rolston throws a right and a left that Boy avoids nicely.

Rolston moves into range and clinches up with Boy.

Boy is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rolston pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Rolston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Boy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rolston pinned against the cage. Rolston gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Boy misses with a hook.
Boy throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rolston sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rolston misses with the combination.

Boy closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rolston's guard.
Rolston has Boy pulled in close to control his posture.
Boy stands up over Rolston, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rolston swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boy won't allow Rolston to sweep him here.

Boy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Boy wants to control from the top but Rolston keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Rolston dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rolston throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rolston throws a leg kick which misses Boy's front leg but catches the back leg as Boy tries to avoid it.
Left hook, right uppercut from Rolston.
Boy takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Rolston lands a nice looking body shot.
Boy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rolston but Rolston pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rolston throws a right and a left that Boy avoids nicely.
Boy dodges the punch combination from Rolston.
Boy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rolston circles away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rolston misses with a wild combination.

Boy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Third Boy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rolston as he jumps to the side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rolston wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Rolston misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rolston tries to clinch up.

Boy gets a takedown into half guard.
Rolston is staying active underneath Boy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Rolston is concentrating on defense, preventing Boy from advancing position.

Boy seems to be looking for submissions.
Rolston gets full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Boy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rolston's guard.
Boy perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Rolston manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Boy closes the distance and clinches up with Rolston, looking for a takedown. Boy pushes Rolston against the cage but Rolston circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rolston stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rolston wants it to stay on the feet.
Rolston lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Boy is working for takedown but Rolston is calmly controlling the position for now.
Boy is looking to take this one to the mat.
Rolston crunches a lovely knee into Boy's ribcage.

Rolston breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

James Rolston seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A head kick misses from Rolston.
Nice takedown defense from Rolston. No joy for Boy on that attempt.
Boy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Rolston drops Boy with a beautiful combination! Boy stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Rolston is looking for the KO!


Boy is rocked!
A jab from Rolston does it's job there.
Oh Boy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Rolston clinches up against the cage.
Boy tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rolston smiles and moves away.
Rolston punishes Boy's body with a nice straight punch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rolston fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Boy on the side of the head.

Oooooh!!! Rolston has knocked Boy down with a huge combo! Rolston steps away and waves a wobbly Boy back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Rolston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!


I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Rolston has cracked Boy with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Rolston lands another huge swinging hook and Boy tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Boy, before Rolston can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). James Rolston!
