The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wheaton.
Wheaton thows a body shot but no joy.
Barnes punishes Wheaton's body with a nice straight punch.
Barnes gets cracked there but stands up to it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Clifton Barnes will probably get the nod.

Wheaton drops his hands momentarily. Barnes doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Wheaton staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Wheaton doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
