Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Richard Burgess!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Kersey!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burgess shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kersey napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kersey wants to control but Burgess postures up.
Burgess working the ground and pound but Kersey is defending the strikes.
Burgess lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kersey down.

Burgess knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kersey on the ground.

Kersey is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kersey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burgess swivels though and keeps the full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burgess uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kersey.
A combination from Kersey does no damage.
Kersey looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Burgess is fending him off so far but Kersey persists. Nope, Burgess circles away and we're back to standing.

Burgess shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kersey is trying to defend but Burgess finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Burgess is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kersey is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kersey has hold of Burgess's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Burgess manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burgess accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
