The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beckham connects with a solid leg kick.
Beckham takes the fight into the clinch.
Beckham pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Benson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Beckham connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Benson's hands.
It looks like Johnny Benson has been cut.
Beckham darts in and clinches Benson up against the cage.

Benson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Beckham can pounce on him.

Beckham wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Benson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Benson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Beckham uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Benson has time to react.
Beckham lands a nice hook to Benson's body. Benson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brad Beckham seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Benson walks into a stiff left hand from Beckham.
Whack! Beckham lands a heavy head kick that drops Benson. The ref tackles Beckham to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Benson was done.
