The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guvna fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dope bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dope taking a breather here.
Guvna gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Guvna wants to control the action here but instead Dope manages to pass to full mount!
Dope lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Dope connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dope lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Dope postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Guvna in real trouble here! The ref calls for Guvna to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jim Dope!
A very excited looking Jim Dope rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
