Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Johnson Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nelson Hopper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Briggs comes to the cage accompanied by Can't Be Touched. Nelson Hopper has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnson Briggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nelson Hopper!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopper misses with a few strikes there.
Hopper tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Hopper has Briggs up against the cage in a clinch.
Briggs throws an elbow that misses.

Hopper has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Briggs clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Briggs covering up well and avoiding damage.
Briggs rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Hopper thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Briggs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hopper is working away from the top position though.
Hopper trying to control the action but Briggs is working from the bottom.
Hopper prevents Briggs from improving his position.

Hopper throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Briggs is looking to improve his position.

Hopper wants to work for an arm triangle but Briggs is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Briggs is looking to control Hopper's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Briggs avoid being mounted?

Hopper is looking for a kimura here.
Briggs tries to roll over but Hopper keeps him under control.

The fighters are battling for position here. Briggs manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Briggs is pulling down on Hopper's head. It's preventing any offense from Hopper, at least for the moment.
Hopper missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Hopper throws an elbow that misses. Briggs uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hopper's guard. Nice move by Briggs!

Hopper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Briggs defends it easily.

Hopper is looking for a triangle but Briggs pushes his legs off easily.

Briggs is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hopper is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Hopper is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Briggs is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Briggs passes Hopper's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Hopper moves into full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Briggs wants to control from the top but Hopper keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Briggs trying to control but Hopper is working from the bottom.

Hopper looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nelson Hopper dominated that round.
That's time! Briggs's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hopper throws a series of punches but Briggs moves out of range.
Briggs throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

so Hopper counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Briggs controls Hopper momentarily but Hopper frees himself.
Hopper trying to control but Briggs is working from the bottom.
Hopper missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Briggs looking for a sweep. Not yet Briggs, not yet.
Hopper seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Briggs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hopper is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Hopper shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Briggs is trying to defend but Hopper finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hopper wants to pass the guard but Briggs is defending well.
Hopper trying to control the action but Briggs is working from the bottom.
Hopper not doing much here.
Hopper lands with a punch from half guard.

Briggs gets back to full guard.
Hopper is working Briggs over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Briggs is trying to keep Hopper in close.
Hopper postures up and lands a big shot to Briggs's brow.

Hopper drops back looking for a leg! Briggs is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Briggs manages to kick Hopper off! Hopper jumps back into Briggs's guard.

Hopper content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Briggs has locked up a guillotine! Briggs's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hopper is holding on here and Briggs must be using up a lot of energy. Hopper has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Briggs gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Johnson Briggs!
Post fight, Johnson Briggs stared into the camera and said 'Let's Say This... Sonic Collects Rings For Five Levels and Then He Gets a Shot At The Boss. I've Beat 5 Guys With Submissions.... Where The Fuck Is My TITLE SHOT?'.
