Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dave Best (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cesar Ryder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryder has chosen Megadeth Public Enemy No.1 as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Best!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cesar Ryder!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ryder fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Best to the ground. Ryder is now in Best's guard.

Ryder drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Best manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ryder has Best in his guard.
Best wants to control from the top but Ryder keeps moving.
Ryder doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Ryder looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Best passes into side control.
Ryder looking for a sweep but Best has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Ryder tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Best trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Best is really struggling to control Ryder but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dave Best.

Ryder looking to score a takedown here. Best is defending well but Ryder drives through and ends up in Best's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Best has momentary wrist control but Ryder slips an elbow through the middle.
Ryder looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Ryder drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ryder jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ryder trying to control but Best is working from the bottom.

Ryder stands and steps away. Best gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
A jab from Best finds it's way through Ryder's defenses.
Best shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ryder but Ryder pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Best is breathing heavily.
Ryder looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ryder looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Best!

Ryder is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Best has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Best!
Ryder manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Best manages to get himself to full guard.
Ryder trying to control but Best is working from the bottom.

Ryder gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ryder is trying hard to land a takedown here. Best sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Best connects with a nice looking jab.
Horrible takedown by Ryder or perhaps it was just good defense by Best which made him look bad.
Dave Best has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cesar Ryder.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ryder changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Best tries to avoid it but Ryder manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Best to the ground. Best escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ryder manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Best on his heels. He'll look to pass Best's guard now, I'm sure.
Best wants to stand up but Ryder is controlling him.
Best manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ryder manages to get himself to full guard.

Ryder escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Best gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ryder will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cesar Ryder dominated that round.
That's time! Best's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ryder takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Cesar Ryder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ryder.
Best slaps away a takedown attempt from Ryder, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Best looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ryder looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Best is fending him off so far but Ryder persists. Nope, Best circles away and we're back to standing.
Dave Best has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cesar Ryder.

Ryder shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Best wants to control but Ryder is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ryder is trying for a kimura here. Best looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Ryder wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Cesar Ryder!
Cesar Ryder was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
