Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Jamie Lynch! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Walter Hannedy! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lynch has managed to clinch.
Hannedy gets underhooks to prevent Lynch's takedown attempt.
Lynch wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Lynch prevents a takedown attempt there.
Lynch escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hannedy thows a leg kick but Lynch checks it and Lynch counters with a series of strikes. Hannedy will be more careful next time no doubt. Lynch swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hannedy takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Lynch tries to clinch up but Hannedy circles away and keeps his distance. Jamie Lynch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lynch clinches with his opponent.
A head punch on the inside from Lynch fails to land. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Lynch. Lynch is defending well against a takedown attempt. Lynch softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Lynch is trying to maintain a safe position but Hannedy gets an underhook and turns Lynch into the cage. Lynch is trying to trip Hannedy. He has hold of a leg but Hannedy is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lynch persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Hannedy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lynch gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lynch controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hannedy has a closed guard, preventing Lynch from standing up. Lynch tries to free his leg and advance position but Hannedy is retaining full guard. Hannedy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hannedy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lynch looking to pass the guard. Lynch drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hannedy dives on top into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lynch tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hannedy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hannedy looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Hannedy with a nice head shot there. Hannedy slips nicely into half guard.

Hannedy thows a huge punch but Lynch dodges it nicely.
Hannedy moves into full mount! Lynch won't be happy about that! Hannedy throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hannedy jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Lynch manages to avoid the submission attempt. Hannedy fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Lynch is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hannedy asserts his dominance and retains side control. Lynch is looking to regain half guard here but Hannedy keeps moving and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hannedy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Lynch is not content to let Hannedy control the position. Lynch is trying to control Hannedy's posture but Hannedy avoids it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lynch is looking to reverse the position. Lynch is trying to escape and get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jamie Lynch will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hannedy takes a swing at Lynch's ribcage but misses. Hannedy is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lynch sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Lynch tries a head kick but it misses.
Lynch plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Lynch throws a push kick but Hannedy slaps the foot to one side. Lynch doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Hannedy throws a low kick but it's checked well by Lynch. Lynch tries to clinch but Hannedy moves out of range. Lynch tries to clinch but Hannedy moves out of range. Lynch tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hannedy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lynch somewhat. Nice takedown defense from Hannedy. No joy for Lynch on that attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lynch enables Hannedy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lynch manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Hannedy stopping the sweep attempt from Lynch. Hannedy passes into half guard. Lynch is staying active underneath Hannedy, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hannedy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lynch sees it coming and defends easily. Hannedy seems to be looking for submissions.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lynch throws a poor cross that misses
and Hannedy counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lynch! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Walter Hannedy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Lynch moves to clinch but Hannedy breaks away and Hannedy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hannedy misses with a few strikes there.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Hannedy. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Lynch displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Nice jab there from Hannedy. Lynch throws the left hand but Hannedy avoids the punch easily. Lynch throws a series of punches but Hannedy avoids them all with ease. Jamie Lynch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hannedy dives in and grabs Lynch's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lynch pushes down on Hannedy's head and hops out. Lynch changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hannedy tries to avoid it but Lynch manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hannedy to the ground. Hannedy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Lynch throws a head kick but Hannedy moves out of range.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hannedy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lynch is fending him off so far but Hannedy persists. Nope, Lynch circles away and we're back to standing. Hannedy lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Lynch shoots in looking for a takedown. Hannedy tries to sprawl out of it but Lynch keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hannedy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lynch throws a sloppy head kick and Hannedy counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Hannedy keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Hannedy winds up and cracks Lynch with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Lynch trying to control but Hannedy postures up.
Hannedy slips a nice elbow through Lynch's hands, connecting with Lynch's forehead. Hannedy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lynch doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hannedy. Nice strikes from Hannedy there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hannedy is working for a submission of some sort.

And that's the end of the fight! Walter Hannedy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Hannedy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Walter Hannedy! Walter Hannedy is the new light heavyweight champion! In his post fight interview, Walter Hannedy started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
