Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Sutherland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Arteta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sutherland might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince - Boom (Shake The Room). Arteta has chosen Yall must have Forgot--Roy Jones Jr as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arteta tries to score with a low kick but Sutherland moves his leg out of the way.
Sutherland shoots in but Arteta avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sutherland closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Sutherland lands with a nice body kick.
Arteta pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sutherland avoids the head kick by Arteta.
A punch combination from Sutherland misses.
Arteta misses the shot to the body.
Sutherland lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sutherland is defended easily by Arteta.

Arteta wants to break the clinch but can't.
Sutherland tries to land a knee to the head but Arteta blocks with his arms.

Sutherland lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Arteta circles away quickly and effectively.
Sutherland closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Arteta did well to prevent Sutherland getting side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Sutherland is pressing down on Arteta's thigh, looking to free his foot. Arteta is holding on for now.
Arteta is trying to control but can't.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sutherland looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Arteta with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Arteta throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Arteta enables Sutherland to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Arteta manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Ricky Sutherland decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
