Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harper Pool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Hammer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harper Pool! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hammer checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Hammer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pool paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hammer has Pool up against the cage in a clinch.
Pool has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Hammer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Hammer wants to clinch. Hammer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Pool counters with a slapping leg kick. Hammer shoots in for a double leg but Pool sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Pool throws a leg kick that misses. Nice defenses there by Pool.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammer moves out of range as Pool throws a body kick.
Hammer throws a combination that misses and Pool counters with a thumping low kick. Hammer with a lazy takedown attempt and Pool counters with a body kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Hammer. That's going to take a lot out of him. A decent looking body kick lands there for Pool. Hammer is breathing heavily. Pool uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hammer has time to react. Hammer checks a low kick from Pool. Pool gets in close and instigates a clinch. Hammer looking to slow down the pace here. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hammer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Pool is trying to push Hammer away but Hammer has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. This has been an exciting period of action! Hammer pushes off an throws an elbow but Pool leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Hammer tries to pull guard but Pool forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Pool wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hammer has him pressed against the cage. Hammer prevents Pool from breaking the clinch. Hammer has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pool is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pool blocks a body shot from Hammer. Hammer tries to throw a body punch but Pool avoids it by throwing Hammer back against the cage. Hammer tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Hammer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jack Hammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Pool. Pool moves into the clinch successfully.

Pool is looking to break free of the clinch but Hammer has double underhooks. Pool's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hammer takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hammer tries to clinch up but Pool circles away and keeps his distance. A bone on bone clash there as Hammer blocks the leg kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Pool lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hammer has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hammer and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Pool bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hammer's head backwards. Pool throws a quick inside leg kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hammer takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Pool tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A solid leg kick lands there for Pool.
Pool tried to score with a low kick but Hammer checks it. Hammer takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Harper Pool dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Pool tries to clinch but Hammer is having none of it. A head kick misses from Hammer. Hammer fails with the takedown and Pool counters with an outside leg kick.
Hammer on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. The fight stays on the outside here - Pool looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hammer tries for a takedown but Pool circles away easily and Pool counters with a thumping low kick. Pool walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hammer checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Jack Hammer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A combination from Hammer does no damage.

and Pool counters with a three punch combo that has Hammer backing up. Hammer nods at Pool to acknowledge the strikes. A bone on bone clash there as Hammer blocks the leg kick.
Hammer tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Pool throws a leg kick but Hammer checks it. Pool has managed to clinch.
Hammer has Pool pressed against the cage, preventing Pool from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Hammer is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Hammer is trying to force a seperation but Pool has the dominant position. Pool wants to break the clinch but can't.

Pool's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hammer throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Pool counters with a left to the body. Pool tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hammer is able to avoid easily. Pool throws a leg kick but Hammer sees it coming and checks it nicely. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Hammer. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Pool buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Pool in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Hammer gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Harper Pool is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pool tries a head kick but it misses.

This has been an exciting period of action! Hammer keeps control of Pool as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pool breaks the clinch.

Harper Pool showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Hammer swats away the attempt to clinch by Pool. Pool misses with a leg kick and Hammer counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pool thinking. The fight stays on the outside here - Pool looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hammer takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
And that's the end of the fight! Harper Pool comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pool has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
