Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Randle Muckmurphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergio Duff!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muckmurphy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A punch combination from Muckmurphy misses.
Duff shoots in looking for a takedown. Muckmurphy tries to sprawl out of it but Duff keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Muckmurphy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Muckmurphy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Duff closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Duff lands in his opponent's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Duff content to stall in guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duff trying to control but Muckmurphy is working from the bottom.
Duff throwing strikes from guard but Muckmurphy blocks nicely.
Muckmurphy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Duff is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Duff advances to half guard.
Still in half guard, Duff seems content to control.
Duff is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Duff is looking for submissions but instead, Muckmurphy has regained full guard.
Duff advances position into side control!
Duff has hold of Muckmurphy's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Muckmurphy seems comfortable defending it but Duff has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Muckmurphy is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Muckmurphy is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Duff couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sergio Duff!
