Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Rodrigues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jared Greene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Leandro Rodrigues!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greene tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Rodrigues decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Greene's guard.
Rodrigues is working Greene over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Rodrigues with a flurry of punches that miss.
Greene is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Rodrigues drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rodrigues jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Greene is looking to stand up but Rodrigues isn't so interested in that idea.

Rodrigues drops an elbow to the side of Greene's head.

Greene makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Rodrigues keeps the fight on the outside.
Rodrigues shoots in for a takedown but Greene shows good takedown defense.
Greene tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rodrigues paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rodrigues misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rodrigues swats away the attempt to clinch by Greene.

Rodrigues lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rodrigues throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Greene tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rodrigues is in Greene's guard.

Rodrigues postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Rodrigues lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Greene is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rodrigues is controlling him.
Greene avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Greene wants to stand and escape but Rodrigues is having none of it.
Greene is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rodrigues passes Greene's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Greene looks gassed!
Rodrigues is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Rodrigues has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rodrigues is pressing down on Greene's thigh, looking to free his foot. Greene is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodrigues thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Greene's head.
Rodrigues is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Greene is hurt! He's hurt bad - Rodrigues fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Greene from any more punishment! Congratulations to Rodrigues! Great finish!
