Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cro Cop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Melo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cro Cop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Felipe Melo! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Melo slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Melo connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Melo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Melo lands a nice shot that snaps Cop's head back.
Melo throws a looping overhand right but Cop ducks down to avoid it. Cop shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A telegraphed right hand from Melo misses the target. Cop tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Melo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Melo misses with a wild body shot. Cop tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Melo cracks Cop with an open hand slap. Cop throws a low kick, looking for Melo's leg but Melo calmly moves out of range. Cop shoots in for a takedown but Melo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Cop defending well as Melo loads up on a big left hand. Cop throws a right and a left that Melo avoids nicely. Cop slips under a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Melo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cop takes one on the button. Melo scores with a body shot.
Melo throws a quick inside leg kick. Cop shoots in for a takedown but Melo shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cro Cop. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cop throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Melo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Felipe Melo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cop misses with a kick to the body and Melo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Cop has his takedown stuffed and Melo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Cop fails with the takedown and Melo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Melo works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Melo misses with a series of wild punches.
Melo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cop defending well as Melo loads up on a big left hand. Melo connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Melo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cop. Melo scores with the left hand. Cop knows he should have avoided that one. Cop shoots in but no luck this time. Cop looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Melo trying to hold on to Cop's head to control him but Cop postures up.
Melo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cop kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Melo regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Melo looking for a guillotine here but Cop defends easily.
Melo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Melo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Cop trying to control but Melo is working from the bottom. Cop has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Cop trying to stand up but can't free himself from Melo's guard. Melo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cop defends well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Melo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Melo is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Cop frees his head nicely. Oh but Melo has switched to an armbar! Cop is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
