Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Talib Kweli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aang Havatar! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A shot to the liver by Kweli. Beautiful body shot. That kick from Kweli tenderised Havatar's leg. Havatar is trying to keep his angry face on. Talib Kweli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kweli throws a looping overhand right but Havatar ducks down to avoid it. Havatar takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Havatar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Kweli is looking to regain half guard here but Havatar keeps moving and retains side control. Kweli is working hard here to advance position. Kweli is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Havatar off and has taken his back! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kweli is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Havatar tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's one minute gone in the round. Kweli trying to control but Havatar is having none of it. Havatar can't escape the position.
Havatar wants to control but Kweli is having none of it. Havatar regains half guard. Havatar looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Kweli pushes past his half guard into mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Havatar is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kweli controlling his opponent. Kweli prevents Havatar from getting the reversal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kweli avoids the attempt from Havatar to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kweli controlling the pace for now. Havatar is looking to improve his position but Kweli isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Havatar tries to lock up and control but Kweli gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Havatar is trying to escape the mount.
Kweli tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Havatar is squirming around, avoiding Kweli's attempts to control the action. Havatar is looking to get to half guard. Kweli controlling from the full mount.
Talib Kweli has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Havatar gets a clinch.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Kweli stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Havatar throws a head punch that misses. Havatar prevents a body shot from Kweli. Kweli tries to work over Havatar's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Havatar goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kweli prevents it.
Kweli keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Havatar's efforts to push away. A head punch on the inside from Havatar fails to land. Kweli escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Havatar gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kweli throws an elbow but it misses.

Kweli tries to work over Havatar's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Havatar misses with some punches.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Kweli misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Havatar throws a punch but it's blocked by Kweli. Kweli displaying some good clinch control by pressing Havatar up against the cage. Kweli misses with a punch to the body.

Havatar lands on the inside with an uppercut. A bit of stalling here from Havatar.
Havatar takes a shot to the head. Kweli is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Kweli misses with an elbow strike.

Kweli lands a hook to the side of the head. Kweli lands a right hand that snaps the head of Havatar backwards. Kweli misses with a punch to the body.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Havatar blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Kweli lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Havatar or not. Still in the clinch, Kweli scores with a nice short uppercut. A quick uppercut on the inside from Kweli. A right handed body shot lands from Kweli.
Havatar looks gassed! Havatar stalling in the clinch but Kweli improves position. Havatar wants a takedown.
Talib Kweli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aang Havatar. Havatar drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kweli tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Havatar's elbow.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Havatar working aggressively here.
The referee calls for Kweli to work.
A left hand lands to the body for Kweli.
Kweli throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Kweli pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Havatar misses with a short punch on the inside. Nice body punch from Kweli - that landed with a thud.
Kweli scores with a shoulder strike. A right hand to the body from Kweli.
Kweli lands a nice uppercut. Kweli escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Havatar on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kweli. Kweli obviously looking to wear him down.
This has been an exciting period of action! Kweli dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kweli lands a jab to Havatar's midsection. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Talib Kweli dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!
Havatar has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Havatar there as he acknowledges the shot. Kweli chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Kweli misses with a double jab
and Havatar counters with a nice uppercut. Kweli connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Kweli takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Kweli lands a big head kick that sends Havatar tumbling to the mat! Kweli takes a step backwards and waves Havatar back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Havatar is rocked!
It looks like Aang Havatar has been cut. Kweli is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Havatar can do to turn this around? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kweli scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Havatar is still on wobbly legs! Can Kweli finish him? Kweli lands a nice looking body shot.

Kweli swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Havatar falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Kweli wins by TKO!
