Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Mamute (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Bummer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robert Bummer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Mamute!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robert Bummer!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bummer misses with a kick to the body

and Mamute counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Mamute stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bummer to get to his feet.
Mamute fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mamute misses with a head kick.
Mamute tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Mamute gets caught flat footed, as Bummer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bummer trying to control but Mamute is working from the bottom.
Mamute manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bummer manages to get himself to full guard.

Bummer controls Mamute momentarily but Mamute frees himself.

Mamute drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mamute jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Mamute tries to stand but Bummer is controlling from the bottom.
Mamute's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Bummer controls Mamute momentarily but Mamute frees himself.

Bummer has a closed guard, preventing Mamute from standing up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Mamute scores with a takedown into Bummer's guard.
Mamute trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Mamute wants to control from the top but Bummer keeps moving.
Bummer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mamute. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mamute looking to sit in guard and control but Bummer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mamute seems keen to control Bummer's posture.
Mamute is trying to control the position but Bummer postures up.

Bummer is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mamute sees it coming and defends easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mamute fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bummer avoids it really well and circles away.
Mamute shoots in and drives through. Bummer sprawls well.
Mamute steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bummer.
Bummer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mamute defends it nicely.
Bummer throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Mamute counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Bummer trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Mamute manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Bummer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mamute is working away from the top position though.

Mamute is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mamute is pressing down on Bummer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bummer is holding on for now.
Bummer is trying to get back to full guard.

Nice strikes from Mamute there.
Mamute is trying to control the action in half guard but Bummer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Mamute here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Mamute not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Bummer wants to get back to full guard but Mamute has mounted him!

Mamute get's back to his feet.
Bummer fails to land the takedown.
Mamute shoots for a takedown but Bummer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andre Mamute. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bummer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mamute circles away quickly and effectively.

Mamute takes the fight into the clinch.

Bummer is pressed up against the cage. Mamute has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bummer down to the mat. Bummer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Mamute lands with a hook. Bummer tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mamute closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bummer circles away.
Bummer tries to land a front kick but Mamute steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Bummer jabs Mamute to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Mamute showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bummer.
Bummer misses with the combination.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mamute forces Bummer back against the cage and clinches.
Bummer is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andre Mamute dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Bummer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bummer throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mamute counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bummer takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Mamute closes the distance and clinches up with Bummer, looking for a takedown. Mamute pushes Bummer against the cage but Bummer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mamute moves in looking to clinch but Bummer pushes him off.

Bummer throws a strike but Mamute rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bummer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mamute is one step ahead there.

Mamute decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Mamute fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mamute thows a body kick. Bummer tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Bummer misses with a straight right.
Bummer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Bummer counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bummer.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andre Mamute. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bummer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bummer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mamute has Bummer pulled in close to control his posture.

Bummer makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Bummer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mamute is keeping the position for now.
Mamute manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Mamute is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bummer is surviving well by controlling Mamute's body position as best he can.
Mamute can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bummer is looking to escape.
Robert Bummer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Bummer is desperately trying to improve his position but Mamute has a good base and remains in mount.

Mamute with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bummer can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andre Mamute.
Well Mamute has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
