Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander The Great One (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Estep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Estep comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Courageous kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Alexander The Great One has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alexander The Great One! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Estep! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Estep shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says The Great One as he avoids it easily. The Great One throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Estep's waist but Estep gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing The Great One off to one side. Estep gets tackled into the cage by The Great One. The Great One maintains the clinch. The Great One gets underhooks to prevent Estep's takedown attempt.
The Great One with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

A right handed body shot lands from The Great One.
Estep tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Estep wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Estep wants the takedown. The Great One is fighting it off but Estep persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in The Great One's guard against the cage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Great One looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Great One is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The Great One controlling Estep's posture. The Great One keeping full guard, as Estep tries to pass. The Great One throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Estep stands up from guard. Let's bang! The Great One showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Estep.
The Great One keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Alexander The Great One has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Estep. The Great One shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Estep shoots in but no luck this time. Estep tries to keep at a distance but The Great One has taken the fight into the clinch. The Great One gets control of Estep's arms and successfully pulls guard. The Great One will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The Great One seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The Great One preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The Great One is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. The Great One tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alexander The Great One. The Great One drives through with a takedown into guard. The Great One working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Estep throws a couple of heel strikes.

The Great One tries to keep at a distance but Estep has taken the fight into the clinch. Estep manages to break the clinch.
Estep stuffs the takedown attempt from The Great One. The Great One gets slowly back to his feet. The Great One misses with a takedown attempt and Estep counters by moving into the clinch. Estep is working for takedown but The Great One is calmly controlling the position for now. The Great One wants to take the fight to the mat but Estep manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander The Great One. That's going to take a lot out of him. The Great One lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Estep backwards. The Great One manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The Great One keeping moving, preventing Estep from controlling successfully. The Great One has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Estep is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. The Great One can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Brian Estep has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Estep sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Estep is going oldschool here, as he tries to force The Great One to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so The Great One shrugs it off. Estep looking to control but The Great One is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Estep working The Great One over with strikes here. Estep controlling the pace for now. Estep throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for The Great One because Estep loaded up on that one. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The Great One tries to hold on but Estep pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Estep showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The Great One has Estep pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. The Great One pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Estep tumbling to the mat - The Great One dives into Estep's guard. The Great One throws a big right hand that misses. The Great One sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Estep's guard. Estep wants to control but The Great One is keeping busy.
The Great One is looking for a kimura but Estep is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for The Great One to get the leverage. The Great One stops Estep from getting back to his feet.

Estep is looking for a sweep. The Great One is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Brian Estep hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from The Great One. Estep tries to clinch but The Great One moves away and The Great One counters with a nice double leg into side control. Estep won't be happy with that. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Estep is trying to get back to half guard. Estep is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but The Great One has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Great One is looking to take a break and control but Estep is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The Great One lands a decent elbow from side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Estep tries to improve position but can't. The Great One lands an elbow. The Great One trying to control the action but Estep is working from the bottom. The Great One working the head and body with strikes. The Great One content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The Great One scores with punches from side control. Estep trying his best to control but The Great One has mounted him. The Great One breaks from Estep's wrist control and lands an elbow. Estep is looking to improve his position but The Great One isn't that keen on the idea. The Great One has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Estep's face.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Estep wants to hold on but The Great One pushes him away. Estep takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. The Great One is landing with some decent strikes but Estep is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The Great One trying to control but Estep is having none of it. Estep is looking to get to half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The Great One unloading with bombs! The Great One sprawls well initially but Estep persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Estep throws a strike but The Great One avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Estep throws a big elbow that misses. Estep looking to sit in guard and control but The Great One gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Estep bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in The Great One's guard.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Estep postures up in The Great One's guard and throws a big left but The Great One blocks it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. The Great One keeps the fight on the outside. Alexander The Great One is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Estep shoots in looking for a takedown but The Great One manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Estep's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. The Great One defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Estep. The Great One tries for a takedown but Estep sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Estep rushes The Great One and presses him up against the cage.

The Great One stands and throws Estep's legs to the side, diving into side control. The Great One cracks Estep with an elbow. That is naaassty. Estep gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Estep is looking to get to half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! The Great One scoring with strikes but Estep is staying in there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Estep is working to get back to half guard.
Estep is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Estep dominated that fourth round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
The Great One shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Estep pinned against the cage. Estep gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Estep shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Estep can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as The Great One is looking to escape. The Great One tries to hold on but Estep postures up. Estep won't let The Great One get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

The Great One wants to get back to full guard but Estep has mounted him! The Great One sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Estep is trying to control. The Great One wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Estep is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Estep wants to take a breather but The Great One is having none of it. The Great One gets back to full guard.
The Great One has his foot on Estep's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Estep works his way back into a safe position though. Estep throws a big elbow that misses. The Great One wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Estep loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Estep wants to control from the top but The Great One keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Brian Estep was stalling too much, according to the referee. Jab by Estep. Estep forces The Great One back against the cage and clinches. Estep escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Estep shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as The Great One sprawls well. The Great One wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Estep gets slowly back to his feet. The Great One gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Great One has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Estep regains guard immediately. The Great One throwing strikes but missing. Estep wants to sweep here but The Great One controlling him for the moment. Estep is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and The Great One defends well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Estep escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. The Great One gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Brian Estep. I think Estep has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
