Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Logan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Logan comes into the arena with Don't Stop Believing blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frankie Logan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Morris! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Logan throws a right hand that Morris ducks under and follows up with a left that Morris also avoids with ease. Logan is breathing heavily. Logan blocks a jab. Logan tries to clinch but Morris moves away and Morris counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Logan's guard now. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Morris stays in close to Logan's body and controls the position. Morris advances to half guard. Logan wants to control but Morris passes into side.
Morris creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Logan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Morris scores with punches from side control. Morris decides to stand up, so the ref orders Logan to his feet. Morris closes the distance and clinches. Morris gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Morris is thwarting Logan's attempts to control the position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Morris in particular looking to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Logan is looking to improve his position.
Logan is looking to get back to full guard here but Morris has managed to pass to side control instead. Logan wants to get back to his feet. Morris stands up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morris closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Morris lands in his opponent's guard. Logan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Morris on the ground. Morris is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Morris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morris passes into half guard. Morris stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Logan to get to his feet. Logan fails in his attempt to clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Logan tries to clinch but Morris is having none of it. Some wild striking there from Logan.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Morris dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Morris moves into the clinch. Logan wants to break the clinch but can't.
Morris blocks the elbow strike.
Morris escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Morris is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Logan's half guard. Logan trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Morris manages to pass to mount!
Logan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Morris landing strikes from the mount and Logan is in trouble! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morris working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Morris stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Morris slips a jab and a cross from Logan.
Frankie Logan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A punch combination from Logan misses. Logan tries to clinch but fails miserably and Morris counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Logan's guard now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Logan is looking to sweep but instead, Morris has passed into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morris lands with a punch from half guard. Morris is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Morris frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Morris looking to control and managing it successfully. Morris lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morris is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Morris!
