PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Francis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and hardas fook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that hardas fook was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Francis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, hardas fook!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

fook bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
fook throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Francis works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Francis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
fook thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Francis's head.
fook prevents Francis from standing back up.
fook tries to stand but can't do so whilst Francis controls his leg.
fook wants to take a breather but Francis is having none of it.
Francis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. fook is working away from the top position though.
fook prevents Francis from improving his position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - fook looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Francis misses with a takedown attempt

and fook counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Francis is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

fook decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Danga de danga de dang - fook scores with a four punch combination!

fook pushes Francis up against the cage in a clinch.
fook can't get the takedown.
Francis looking to slow down the pace here.
Francis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. fook is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
fook unloads a knee to the mid-section. Francis lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

fook lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Francis manages to escape and get back to his feet!

fook fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Francis, pushing him back against the cage.
fook looks to throw an elbow but misses.
A short left from Francis.
Francis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Francis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Francis jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Francis is on top in guard.
Francis wants to control from the top but fook keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Francis looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Francis gets to his feet. fook looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Francis falls off balance throwing a combination

and fook counters with a single leg into guard. Francis didn't expect that.
Francis punching from the bottom - just letting fook know he's still in a fight.
Francis controlling the position.
fook throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

fook is posturing up here but Francis has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! fook tries to roll out but it's too tight and fook has to tap! Slick submission there by Francis!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Paul Francis!
