Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Ray! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Scott! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ray fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Scott jabs Ray to the body, keeping him at a distance. Ray takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Scott clinches with his opponent.
Scott pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Scott is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ray's half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Scott throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ray is looking for a sweep. Scott is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scott throwing shots but Ray is blocking nicely. Ray is looking for a sweep. Scott is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Scott looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ray is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Scott scores with a couple of nice shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ground and pound from Scott. Scott takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Scott wants to pass to mount but Ray is defending the position. Scott is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Scott trying to control from Ray's half guard. Ray has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Scott wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Ray's closed guard. He's half up but Ray has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Ray pivots and extends the arm, Scott falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Ray! Well done that man!
