Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Hagan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matthew Five Sixteen! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Five Sixteen gets a double leg takedown into Hagan's guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Hagan keeping full guard, as Five Sixteen tries to pass. Five Sixteen stays in close to Hagan's body and controls the position. Five Sixteen postures up and lands a big shot to Hagan's brow. Five Sixteen tries to free his leg and advance position but Hagan is retaining full guard. Five Sixteen stands up from Hagan's guard - Five Sixteen perhaps looking for a knockout. Hagan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Five Sixteen pinned against the cage. Five Sixteen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hagan misses with a takedown attempt and Five Sixteen counters with a nice double leg into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Five Sixteen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hagan keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Five Sixteen slows the pace down in half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Matthew Five Sixteen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Hagan gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Five Sixteen to score an easy takedown into full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Five Sixteen advances position into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hagan stops Five Sixteen from passing to mount. Hagan is looking for a sweep. Five Sixteen content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Hagan looking for a sweep but Five Sixteen has passed into full mount! Oh no! A nice elbow there by Five Sixteen. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Five Sixteen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hagan is working to get back to half guard.
Five Sixteen punishing his opponent with strikes. Five Sixteen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Five Sixteen trying to control but Hagan is having none of it. Five Sixteen with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Five Sixteen blocks Hagan's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Five Sixteen trying to control but he's not successful this time. Hagan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Five Sixteen looking to control but Hagan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee warns Hagan that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matthew Five Sixteen dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hagan moves out of range as Five Sixteen throws a body kick.
Hagan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Five Sixteen tries to avoid it but Hagan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Five Sixteen to the ground. Five Sixteen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hagan dives in and grabs Five Sixteen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Five Sixteen pushes down on Hagan's head and hops out. Hagan throws a head kick that misses. Henry Hagan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Five Sixteen takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Hagan clinches up against the cage. Five Sixteen can't break the clinch.
Hagan successfully pulls guard.
Five Sixteen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hagan swivels though and keeps the full guard. Five Sixteen trying to control but Hagan is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hagan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hagan trying to control the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Matthew Five Sixteen wasn't active enough on the ground. Five Sixteen rushes Hagan and presses him up against the cage. Five Sixteen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hagan smiles and moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hagan shoots for a double leg takedown but Five Sixteen sprawls well. He's pushed Hagan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Hagan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hagan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hagan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Five Sixteen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hagan quickly recovers to half guard. Hagan is not content to let Five Sixteen control the position. The fighters are battling for position here. Hagan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Five Sixteen stands and steps away. Hagan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Five Sixteen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hagan did well to prevent Five Sixteen getting side control. Five Sixteen wants to control but Hagan is keeping him busy. Hagan is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Five Sixteen swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Matthew Five Sixteen! An intense looking Matthew Five Sixteen took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Thank you Jesus.'.
