PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Guvna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tally Ho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Guvna might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Danger. Guvna is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Tally Ho is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ho feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Guvna is breathing heavily. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Ho slips nicely into half guard. Ho controlling the pace. Ho working Guvna over with strikes. Ho takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Ho winds up and cracks Guvna with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Ground and pound from Ho. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ho lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Guvna has hold of Ho's hands but Ho slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Ho controlling the pace. Ho working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ho tries to pass to full mount but Guvna defends it. Ho looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Guvna with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ho works his way into full mount! Guvna is in a horrible position here. Ho smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Guvna is rocked! Ho breaks from Guvna's wrist control and lands an elbow. Oh Guvna is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Ho is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Guvna can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Guvna takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Ho's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
