Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe White! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luiz Cane! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cane shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says White as he avoids it easily. White with a jab.
It looks like Luiz Cane has been cut. Cane misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. White pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Joe White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. White cracks Cane with an open hand slap. White is looking to clinch. White swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A jab from White misses. A punch combination from White misses. Cane is looking to clinch but White is avoiding it.
White tries to clinch but Cane is having none of it. White tries to bum rush Cane with a series of wild strikes but Cane uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cane misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cane tries to clinch there but White circles away.
Cane has a takedown stuffed. Joe White has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luiz Cane. White stuffs the takedown. Cane throws a sloppy head kick and White moves out of range easily. Cane gets a takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cane is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, White has managed to free his arm - good work. Cane should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. White looks like he's trying to stand up.
Cane wants to pass to mount but White is defending the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cane is looking for a kimura here.

Cane looks gassed! White looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cane decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Cane shoots for a double leg takedown but White sprawls well. He's pushed Cane's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cane throws a half hearted mid kick. Cane showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from White.
White takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. White pulls out of a head kick attempt.
White scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
White's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and White duly obliges. Cane swats away the attempt to clinch by White. Cane tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Danga de danga de dang - White scores with a four punch combination! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. White wants to clinch up but Cane keeps it at a distance. White lands an overhand right. White scores with a jab to the jaw. A jab lands there for White. Cane takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
White throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
White throws a right and a left that both miss. White misses with a head kick.
White drops Cane with a left right combo! White follows him down to the ground into side control.
Cane is rocked!
That has opened up Luiz Cane's cut even more. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. White has hold of Cane's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Cane tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - White cranks the arm and Cane screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Cane, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Joe White!
