Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Romo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes.

Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Romo Silva was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Silva cracks Hughes with a good jab.

Silva shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hughes napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Silva creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Silva advances to full mount.
Silva lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Silva looks to throw the jab but Hughes is out of range.

Silva fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hughes to the ground. Silva is now in Hughes's guard.

Silva throws a strike but Hughes rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hughes has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Silva to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Hughes is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Silva pulls down on the head and he's put Hughes to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Romo Silva!
Romo Silva decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
